Simply Gelato

Over the years I’ve written many posts about gelato and Italy. Gelato is my favorite treat and one time I found a flavor in Parma called Parmigianino that was light and fluffy.  When I get gelato I try two flavors so I can sample something different with one of my favorites.  It’s part of the adventure to walk and enjoy the scenery with a refreshing gelato.  I wasn’t the only one either – I saw lots of people walking with their gelato cones and cups!

I decided to continue with this theme so here are some of the signs I saw.  These pictures make me want to go back to Italy – hopefully soon!

Future Spring Flowers

Although it’s still winter I can’t help but think about how nice it will be when it’s spring.  And spring means cheery, colorful flowers. I thought I’d create a scene with lots of flowers and gardens to help get through the rest of the winter.  It’s a reminder that it won’t be long before there are blue skies, warm sunshine and the beginning of a new season.

I’m looking forward to spring – the sooner the better!

A New Year

I started Meg Travels back in 2011, and after taking a break started posting again this fall. I also started a new blog in September called Meggie’s Adventures that shares family stories and even explains why I have always loved flowers, travel and ice cream (and gelato)! It’s been fun and I’m looking forward to seeing you there. I’ve also been working on travel plans for the future and look forward to more adventures.

Here’s to a wonderful 2021.

Happy New Year!

Autumn Sights

A couple of years ago I was in Colonial Williamsburg to see the autumn foliage. I didn’t expect to see so much greenery in November, but it was a delightful day and many people were out walking wearing t-shirts, shorts and sandals. I didn’t think it was that warm but I ended up carrying my jacket after walking for a couple of hours. Here are some of the sights.

With everything still so green I wondered if I’d see any fall foliage. I did find this tree on one of the streets and the colors were lovely.
